Reversing its previous day’s losses, potato prices rose by 0.21 per cent on Thursday at the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) as the traders enlarged their holdings on account of a surge in the demand for the commodity in the market. Potato futures for May 2013 contract, at MCX, were trading at Rs 1,046.50 per 100 kg, up by 0.21 per cent after opening at Rs. 1,050 against the previous closing price of Rs. 1,044.30GET FREE
