Maize trading range for the day is 1467-1485. Maize prices ended with gains on short covering tracking firmness in spot demand. In India, maize has been sown in around 15.96 lakh hectares as on 27th January’17 which is higher than 14.49 lakh hectare. Maize cultivators in the rain-fed region of Ariyalur and Tiruchi districts have been keeping their fingers crossed due to drought condition. In Nizamabad maize spot prices gained 1.4 Rupees to 1489.4 Rupees per 100kgs.
