Potato prices rose for the fifth day on Thursday at the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) as the traders enlarged their holdings on account of a surge in the demand for the commodity in the market. Potato futures for September 2013 contract, at MCX, were trading at Rs 802.90 per 100 kg, up by 0.27 per cent after opening at Rs. 801 against the previous closing price of Rs. 800.70.
