Pepper prices were ruling at Rs 75 per kg in 1995 and it rose to 440 levels this year and on comparison with rubber which was also priced around the same levels in 1995, the growth is indeed astonishing. Rubber prices rose to a high of Rs 240 per kg in 2011 but subsequently is languishing at Rs 175 levels now. However, there is no merit in comparing two dissimilar commodities as the market dynamics are different for both.
